Background:

 

The Martindale Wear and Abrasion Tester was conceived many years ago and has gradually achieved international acceptance as the preferred machine for evaluating the abrasion resistance of textile and similar materials.

 

Over the years, there have been many changes and improvements in the basic engineering , but beyond that original layout and format of the machine Wear and Abrasion Tester have remained largely unaltered.

 

Now, the machine has been totally redesigned and renamed the Nu-Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester. Modern technology has been used to produce a larger capacity (six stations) easier to use and more versatile (Abrasion and Pilling) machine. However, the key working components from the earlier model have been retained to ensure compliance with standards and correlation with existing machines.
